Continued Success with FNA Mapping

Once again, mature sperm were confirmed by FNA Mapping in a patient who had unsuccessful micro TESE

After the failure of micro TESE at a famous fertility health facility in the Kanto region, we performed FNA mapping on a patient who had given up on having children, and found mature sperm in two locations.

After micro TESE, the testicular volume had shrunk to about half of what it was before the surgery due to aftereffects, but an ultrasound scan still revealed an untouched area where sperm were actually being formed.

In the United States, micro TESE that is performed without FNA mapping is now called upfront micro TESE, and micro TESE that is performed after FNA mapping is called directed micro TESE. We hope that one day directed micro TESE will become common in Japan as well.
